New Initiatives
Working with governmental and community-based organizations,
Connecticut Health seeks out opportunities for significant UConn Health
Center collaboration on new initiatives. Connecticut Health offers
experience, organizational expertise, and directional consultation for
the development of new projects and proposals.
Through its Legislative Liaison Committee, Connecticut Health
actively links legislators who are interested in biomedical research and
health care to UConn Health Center clinicians and researchers who can
assist in the crafting of well-researched legislative proposals. These
activities will lead to more health-conscious legislation, improved
delivery systems, and a better quality of life for all of Connecticut’s
residents, especially the underserved populations of our state.
Connecticut Health also seeks to match specific Connecticut Health
programs to the priorities of foundation and corporate funders. Recent
success substantiates the valuable possibilities. After viewing the
Connecticut Health website, the People's Bank Foundation identified the
Health Careers Opportunities Program as the beneficiary of a $100,000
grant.
By building and enhancing the UConn Health Center network of
relationships with other community, state, federal, granting, and
regulatory agencies, Connecticut Health presents a united front rather
than the competition of individual voices. |
